I came from a family of powerful Lung dragons. However, I wasn't gifted in the arcane arts like rest of my family and thus they shunned me as a result. I tried to compensate for my lack of innate arcane powers by instead focusing on my aptitude for alchemy. Sadly this wasn't enough to gain my families favor. Eventually, my white scales turned gray... and my happy demeanor faded due to the burden I felt I had become.
During one of my late night walks, I stumbled across a rather luminous white rabbit. It's paw caught in a bear trap. Conjuring all the magic I could, attempting to free it. Try as I might I could not free it with magic alone. In a desperate attempt, I thrust my hands into the trap, spreading it apart. Leaving myself rather bloodied in the process. The little rabbit revealed itself to be Yu Tu, goddess Cheng'e's favored pet rabbit. As thanks for freeing him, he offered to convince the Goddess to grant a wish. I asked him to grant me arcane power so that I may satisfy my family. With a nod, Yu Tu hopped into the air and bound across the sky on his way to the moon. As he went out of sight, I sat down under a tree, exhausted. Slowly I drifted off to sleep. With the morning light I awoke to find I had grown long rabbit ears, but my dragon tail had disappeared. The only thing left of my former dragon self were my horns, resonating with arcane power. I ran home as fast as I could, shouting the good news as I burst through the gate. What I had hoped to be a joyous and happy occasion turned to looks of disgust and ridicule. I was no longer a pure blood dragon and that to them was the greatest sin of all.
With teary eyes, I ran, I ran as far as my legs could carry me. Eventually I passed out from exhaustion of both my body and spirit. In my dream Chang'e came to me and told me that I while I had become a sorceress of immense arcane due to the wish she granted me. It did not come without a cost. I would never be as good as anyone who had honed their power from birth. I was to be a jack of all trades and a master of none. When I awoke, I found myself in an immense field surrounded by a dense forest, the sky painted in eternal dusk. With my newfound magic, I built myself a home and set about what I felt to be my new purpose in life. I would become an emissary to Chang'e and guide lost rabbit spirit's to her kingdom. Hopefully bringing joy to them along their journey.
As time would pass and my adventures would lead me deeper into the surrounding forest. On one such adventure, I came across an ornate book. With my stomach rumbling, I decided to bring it back to my home. I looked through it on my way back only to find all the pages blank. Perplexed, I set it on my dining table as I hurried into the kitchen. As I finished cooking, a flash of light caught the corner of my eye. Turning around and looking where I had set the book earlier, I found the figure of a man, or to be more exact, a man with the head of the very book I set down. After an awkward introduction it was revealed to me that he was a sentient ancient magic tome that had been left in the woods by some less than savory fiends. He called himself Shameless, and offered his knowledge to me if I were to allow him to stay with me. I very will fully agreed, I would have been a fool not to. As things often do after being alone for so long in our own realms, we eventually fell in love and married. I now spend my days as I did before aiding little rabbit spirits on their way, but now with aid of my new family. Show more
